New PullRite Hitch a Hit at Shows

PullRite Towing Systems of Mishawaka, Ind., introduced its new SuperLite Single Point Fifth Wheel Hitch at the distributor shows this past month.

The SAE-rated hitch attaches to any OE or aftermarket gooseneck towing system, according to PullRite.

The SuperLite Single Point incorporates Bed Saver Rails that act as a buffer between the hitch base and the bed. The optional Bed Saver Rail Lube Plate Kit, sold separately, provides protection from bed damage.

The underside of the Bed Saver Rails is lined with a protective coating to eliminate aluminum-to-steel corrosion, protect from scratches and reduce the hitch rotation on the ball. The Bed Saver Rails insulate the truck from fore and aft movement inherent in single point attachment hitches.

As with all PullRite products the SuperLite Single Point has been subjected to extensive testing, both Static and Dynamic. The “arch” frame design, coupled with the use of high-grade U.S. steel component, enabled the hitch to achieve a SAE J2638 rating of 20,000 while sporting a mere 64 pounds installation weight.

Once the hitch is installed, it is secured by a conical washer and high-grade steel bolt and nut. This design eliminates the need for “re-torqueing” after hitching to the trailer, a requirement on other single point hitches.

For added security, the steel draw-down bolt is drilled to allow for the optional lock kit to be installed (sold separately #2617).

Like the SuperLite 4P – ISR mount, the new SuperLite 1P incorporates PullRite’s “Ball and Funnel” coupling system.

With the ball completely visible form the driver’s seat, it can be positioned anywhere over the receiver funnel at any angle, and then the landing gear drops the ball into the receiver tube. The remote latch system that is accessible from outside the truck bed to lock the hitch.

The design of both models allows the king pin to be positioned rear of the trucks axle, allowing for a tighter turning radius for both long and short bed tow vehicles.
