Seattle RV Show Looks to Top 2011 Record Attendance

Organizers for the 2012 Seattle RV Show, set for Feb. 9-12 at the CenturyLink Event Center, hope to duplicate the 15,550 person attendance at last year’s show, which was at its highest in 20 years.

"Based on our early ticket sales, I think we’re going to be ahead,” Show Director Dave Helgeson told RV PRO.

Helgeson said about 250-300 RVs will be displayed by 14 dealers. About 45 exhibitors have purchased 60 booths for the show already, and that number could inch upward in the coming weeks. The number of RV dealers and exhibitors is slightly higher compared to last year’s show.

“Other RV shows in other parts of the country have done well this year. (Dealers and exhibitors) also see how well we did last year in attendance and sales,” he said.

Participating dealers include: Airstream Adventures Northwest, Apache Camping Center, Blade Chevrolet & RV Center, Clearview RV Inc., Fife RV Center, Five Star RV Center, Gonnason Boats & RV, Poulsbo RV, Roy Robinson RV, Sumner RV, Sunset RV, Tacoma RV Center, Uhlmann RV, and Valley Auburn RV.

Produced by the Manufactured Home & RV Show Association (MHRV) for 49 years, the Seattle RV Show is the largest in the state, according to organizers. Helgeson is optimistic that 2012 will be a strong year, as demand for RVs is reflected in increased shipments and attendance at shows nationwide. He estimates about 40 percent of the show attendees at the Seattle event are existing RV owners, while 60 percent are interested in buying or learning more about the RV lifestyle.

Washington State Employees Credit Union is the presenting sponsor of the event for the first time.

This year's event will feature twice the number of free seminars for RV enthusiasts. John Holod, an Award-winning filmmaker, will return to The Seattle RV Show to share his latest RV production, The Great Rocky Mountain RV Adventure.
