CRVA Advocating for Businesses to Be Essential

The Canadian RV Association has issued the following letter discussing the state of campgrounds and RV dealers during the COVID-19 pandemic:

Dear CRVA Member,

We extend hope that you and your family are staying safe and healthy during this unprecedented time in history.

While tragic, it has been extremely uplifting to see all of the unselfish acts of kindness from so many in the RV industry on both sides of the border.

Since the virus began, we are proudly seeing RV dealers and current RV owners generously offering units to front-line essential workers to keep them safe and isolated from their loved ones across Canada.

Additionally, several of our private campgrounds have opened up their premises early to accommodate Snowbirds and Full Time RVers when permissible to help our customers get through this crisis.

The Canadian RV industry had been advocating stakeholder businesses as being deemed “essential” with our Federal and Provincial Governments, but as we better got to understand the virus and its risk, it became clear that we had to put this incentive aside to concentrate on every measure and means to ensure the health and safety of our businesses and their employees.

However, we are certain that stakeholders in the Canadian RV industry will need Government Financial Assistance Programs in order to recover.

The Canadian RV Association, RVDA of Canada and the Canadian Camping and RV Council will work in collaboration with each other to advocate federal, provincial and municipal governments for much needed support in order to get us past this crisis and into our future when we can again thrive.
