Insurance Company Sues Former NeXus CFO Over Inflated Bonuses

West Bend Mutual Insurance is suing former NeXus RV CFO Reed Morrison $62,000 in bonus pay it alleges he got by inflating sales figures. West Bend Mutual is the insurance company for NeXus RV.

According to a report in the Elkhart Truth, Morrison manipulated data to create the appearance of increased sales figures between January 2016 and March 2019, resulting in him receiving inflated bonuses that totaled $62,212.

West Bend Mutual filed the lawsuit after it had to cover NeXus’s loss once the misrepresented sales figures came to light. It was filed Monday in Elkhart County Superior Court 2.

The complaint in the lawsuit says that between 2016 and March 25, 2019, Morrison had control over the company’s financial statements, general ledger, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable and other financial aspects. It alleges that in that time, he intentionally directed the company’s money to his own use.

The four-count complaint accuses him of conversion, fraud and breaching his duties to the RV company.
