Though business deals, new products and celebrity appearances may have dominated the bulk of the Open House Week, which wrapped up Thursday (Sept. 24), some attendees left Elkhart with a little more than they’d bargained for.
As guest appearances from former Chicago Bears Coach Mike Ditka, and running back Gayle Sayers on Wednesday (Sept. 23) afternoon drew the attention of many attendees, Forest River held a drawing for a specially designed Rpod trailer. The Rpod features a special paint scheme by artist Don Loucks, valued at $17,000.
Scott Krenek of Krenek RV in Coloma, Mich., won the rights to purchase the trailer for his dealership at a price that does not include the custom paint scheme.
Thor held a drawing for a new vehicle, allowing the winner to select between a Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, Mercedez-Benz SUV, Audi A7 Quattro or a Ford F150 Platinum Edition.
The winner, Loren Lirette, an inventory analyst for Camping World, selected the black Audi, which had an MSRP of $76,200.
“It’s not about the cars, it’s about the product and the partnerships,” Thor President and CEO Bob Martin told the crowd prior to the drawing. “We thank all our dealer partners for joining us here at Open House and look forward to a great year.”
