After leading the nation in towable sales for a single location, Fun Town RV is starting strong in 2015.
As the statewide numbers for February came out, the Fun Town RV chain sold 547 new units between its four Texas locations through February, for a 16.9 percent share of the towable market in Texas, according to Statistical Surveys.
“I am very pleased with the latest numbers, “ said Jarrod McGhee, owner of Fun Town RV. “Any time you can have all four stores finish in the top 10 in a state like Texas and sell over twice as many units as the next closest chain, you have to be happy.”
Fun Town RV Houston, the newest location in the chain opened for business in October 2014.
Helmed by industry veterans David Kidd and Charlie Minnick, the dealership wasn’t among the top 50 in the U.S. at the end of the year, but had achieved the No. 2 spot through the first two months of the year.
The San Angelo and Waco stores finished at Nos. 7 and 8, respectively.
“We think Houston is an underserved market,” McGhee said. “So we knew going in that we should be able to make a splash.”
