After multiple decades of collaboration, GE Appliances, a Haier company, and Midwest Sales and Services, have integrated their operations, expanding their combined capacity in the innovation, development, sales and service of outdoor living appliances in the United States.

The MWSS team will collaborate with GE Appliances on the go-to market strategy and marketing for the RV segment while leveraging the MWSS warehousing, distribution and delivery capabilities to better service customers. MWSS will now operate as a subsidiary of GEA.

“The longstanding relationships and expertise of the team at MWSS, combined with the supporting infrastructure of GE Appliances, its American manufacturing capabilities and global supply chain will ensure that the products we make, service and deliver to our customers in the outdoor living space are best in class,” said Attila Krizsan, senior director of recreational living at GE Appliances.

In early 2021, GE Appliances created a dedicated team focused on the development of this emerging business segment with new product innovations created for the recreational living product distributors and their consumers. The relationship with MWSS, a customer since 1991, has influenced the success and growth of the RV segment at GEA, especially with current CEO Heath Wechter assuming leadership of the family business in 2020. The MWSS team leveraged their industry expertise to aid in product development for RV-ready products and their longstanding industry relationships to create a bridge between GEA and RV OEMs.

“We have worked closely with the GEA team for a long time to distribute their products to our customers. Collaborating with the GEA engineers to bring innovative appliances designed for the home to the outdoor living category has created new value from brands people trust,” Wechter said.

MWSS and its two facilities in Elkhart, Indiana, will continue to operate with their full staff.

Though headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky, GEA now becomes officially a part of the Elkhart community, and to celebrate that fact, GEA said it made a workforce development investment in the RV Technical Institute, as well as creating a scholarship with the Elkhart Education Foundation to help make post-graduate education possible for more high school students in the area.
