Heartland RVs has introduced its new mid-tier fifth wheel model, the Corterra, just in time for Open House. Named for the Latin words “cor,” for heart, and “terra,” for land, Corterra represents the essence of what Heartland does best, the company said: It draws upon the high-quality materials, construction, design, and interior decor that set its other brands apart.

Corterra’s exterior features include American-made Goodyear tires with a built-in tire pressure monitoring system and 7,000-pound Dexter axles. It also comes with Dexter Tow Assist, which offers a robust suite of new safety features. Anti-lock braking reduces tire skid and provides stable braking by increasing road traction. Sway mitigation helps keep the trailer in line with the tow vehicle during windy days, lane changes, and higher speeds. And a towable odometer provides trailer mileage so owners can perform recommended maintenance at key intervals.

Corterra is built around a 10-inch I-beam frame with two-inch crush tubes, giving it a solid but lightweight foundation on the road, the company said. An innovative new aerodynamic front cap includes an expansive windshield that offers stunning views of nature. At the entry, steps by MORryde with an extended grab handle offer stability upon entering the tinted, all-glass entry door.

“Corterra’s construction is strong but lightweight, and features innovative new elements like the all-glass entry door and the panoramic window in the front cap,” said Jon Gust, general manager for Corterra. “It’s a capable, well-built RV wrapped in a beautiful exterior.”

Inside Corterra, residential amenities make the space comfortable with a lighted wine or coffee bar, a pull-out trash can with a hidden storage drawer, and a residential appliance package that provides a 30-inch over-the-range microwave and a 16 cubic- foot refrigerator so campers can make all their favorite meals on the road.

In the bedroom, there’s a standard residential king bed, providing a sleeping area 76-inches by 80-inches, plus dual wardrobes, and ample dresser storage. Every Corterra model will also come standard with washer and dryer prep.

“We’ve leaned into a more minimalist feel with Corterra,” said Gust. “The most important thing has been to perfect the essentials campers rate as the most important while maximizing every square inch of space.”
