General RV Center celebrated the completion of the first phase of construction on its new Supercenter in Salisbury, North Carolina.

Located strategically in Rowan County, northeast of Charlotte, General RV Center is building an RV Supercenter that will offer a wide range of RVs, outdoor products and accessories. With the installation of the steel framework and clearing of the site complete, crews are now enclosing the 71,000-square-foot facility. The dealership will have over 40 service bays, including a six-bay body shop, with enough space to house 700 RVs on the lot. The family-owned dealership will be the largest RV Supercenter within approximately 400 miles in the state, General RV said.

“It took us years to find the perfect spot, the ideal community to call our home in North Carolina,” said General RV CEO Loren Baidas. “We’re grateful for the unwavering support of Rowan County and the city of Salisbury. As construction continues, we look forward to opening our doors and sharing our love for RVing with this region, offering top-notch service and accessibility for both new and existing customers to make RV memories for themselves and their families.”

The next phase of construction is underway. In addition to enclosing the facility, crews are beginning work on site improvements including paving, sidewalks and curbs.

Construction and development has already brought in an estimated $15 million into Rowan County in real estate property improvements and equipment, along with approximately 70 indirect and induced jobs. By the end of the project, General RV will have invested a total of $25 million into the community.

Once open, the Supercenter is expected to create more than 150 full-time jobs with an average salary of $65,000. Other businesses in Rowan County will also benefit from General RV’s estimated 10,000 annual customers who will spend an average of six hours in the community’s shops, restaurants and attractions. The result for the local area will be approximately $740,000 of annual visitor spending.

“We are thankful for General RV’s investment in our community and excited about the progress being made on the new supercenter,” said Rowan EDC President Rod Crider. “We look forward to this new facility serving Rowan County, as well as the entire region.”

A grand opening and hiring events are tentatively scheduled for this fall.
