The 2013 edition of the South Texas RV Super Sale, held Jan. 3-6 at the Joe Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio, had a 14 percent attendance increase compared to the 2012 show. Nearly 8,000 people attended the show, according to the Texas RV Association (TRVA).
“In spite of the cold temperatures and nasty weather the first two days of the show, our turnout was great,” said Clark McEwen, executive director of TRVA and manager of the show. “All of my dealers sold lots of units and are very happy.”
Specific sales numbers from the show aren’t available, according to McEwen.
“The other important trend that we saw this year was the increased interest and attendance of younger families. We had many young families and first time buyers this year,” he said. “This segment appears to be very enthusiastic about family vacations. They are well qualified and have disposable income.”
The number of exhibiting vendors at the South Texas RV Super Sale doubled compared to the show last year, according to TRVA.
The 2014 South Texas RV Super Sale is already being planned. More details on that show will be released on the show’s Facebook page.
TRVA’s Southwest RV Supershow is set for September in Dallas.
