A former employee of Connecticut Electric has acquired the company’s power supply products arm, Parallax Power Supply, with plans to streamline the Anderson, Ind.-based company to serve the RV industry.
The two sides finalized the deal July 12. A purchase price was not disclosed.
Joseph Brandon, who previously worked with parent company Connecticut Electric, becomes the president of Parallax, now known as Parallax Group Inc.
As a standalone company, National Sales Manager Mike Tomarchio said the move would allow Parallax to focus on its lineup of OEM and aftermarket RV power products that include converters, transfer switches and power centers, among others.
“This will allow us to focus only on one thing, and that is the RV industry. Whether its OEM manufacturers or aftermarket distributors and even into end-users,” he said. “We’ll be able to focus solely on that one thing: RV.”
The company will waste no time in pursuing its stated goal, and will continue shipping products throughout the move.
Tomarchio said the Parallax team remains in place, and is focusing on making the transition to new facilities, which include a new warehouse and offices at 600 Broadway in Anderson.
“We’re looking forward to hitting the ground running, and are working through the chaos of moving the warehouse and moving offices, and doing our best to keep product flowing out the door,” he said.
Product deliveries may slow temporarily as the company transitions, but Tomarchio said the team is working to make the move as seamless and quick as possible.
“We understand that this acquisition represents a change in name and ownership; we want to ensure you (customers) that Parallax is still a brand you can rely on,” he said in a news release. “We will grow stronger through this acquisition and focus on our core products and you, the customer. We are committed to working with you to overcome any issues that may arise.”
The Parallax team consists of Brandon as president and Tomarchio overseeing national sales. Pat Murphey and David Smart oversee customer service and accounts payable and accounts receivable, respectively. Marty Redd remains in place as the company’s technical support. Bruce Jones oversees warranty.
When the transition is complete, the company’s phone will remain unchanged (800-443-4859), but until the telephone company can switch the numbers to the new offices, Tomarchio said customers can reach the company by calling 888-523-8637, or visiting the website at www.parallaxpower.com.
