A new manufacturing plant that will employ 30-plus people is coming to La Porte, it was announced at the La Porte City Council meeting Tuesday night.
Patrick Industries, which manufactures parts and products for the RV, marine and manufactured housing industries, will move into the facility the city recently built in Rose Industrial Park on the city’s east side. The firm, founded in 1959, employs 9,500 people at more than 170 manufacturing and distribution facilities in the U.S., Canada and China, including one in Elkhart.
The La Porte site is expected to be operating by 2025. The Rose site covers 60,000 square feet. Patrick Industries will invest several million dollars to equip the facility. The jobs will pay $26 an hour and hiring is expected to begin late this fall.
