Road to Open House

rvpsept042_copyRV shipments this year might be down a bit from historic highs the past two years, but that doesn’t mean that RV manufacturers plan to scale back their new and updated product offerings for September’s Elkhart Open House Week. Far from it.

Reps for large, medium-size and small manufacturers all told RV PRO that they are planning about the same number of product debuts at this year’s event compared to last year, and in some cases representatives say they will be bringing more inventory than past years to showcase for dealers.

Meanwhile, there are a number of new developments for this year’s Open House Week. Notably, Forest River is moving its massive exhibit to the company’s East to West manufacturing facility near the Elkhart Municipal Airport. (Previously the RV manufacturer hosted its event at the company’s Dynamax plant at the intersection of County Road 6 and Northland Drive.)

For its part, Thor Industries is staying put at the RV/MH Hall of Fame, but this year’s exhibit will take place on a newly paved surface. Also at that location, the Hall of Fame will host a major display of aftermarket suppliers, while a second major exhibition for suppliers will happen near Forest River’s new exhibit space.
