RVIA’s Former Standards VP to Receive Meritorious Service Award

The RV Industry Association‘s former Vice President of Standards, Bruce Hopkins, will be receiving the Meritorious Service Award at the 2020-2021 Leadership and Service Awards ceremony during World Standards Week. Referred to as the “godfather” of RV standards, Hopkins contributed his knowledge and skills to the RV industry and RV Industry Association for more than 40 years before retiring at the end of 2020. Hopkins leaves behind a legacy of self-regulation that promotes uniform standards across the RV industry, according to RVIA.

The award is part of the American National Standards Institute’s 2020-2021 Leadership and Service Awards with an in-person ceremony, reception, and dinner during World Standards Week. The ANSI awards recognize outstanding leaders and achievers in U.S. and global voluntary standards-setting and conformity assessment activities across the broad spectrum of ANSI members and constituents. Rescheduled in 2020 due to the pandemic, this year’s celebration will honor 2020-21 award recipients.

In all, dozens of awards will be handed out at the ceremony, which will be held 6 – 9:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday, May 18, from at the Fairmont Washington; click here to register.
