Meyer Distributing announced a new partnership with Confluence Outdoors, home to four kayak brands: Pelican, Wilderness, Perception and Dagger.
- Pelican International is one of the oldest and largest kayak companies in the world. Pelican extrudes their own kayak shells in layers, which the company said adds strength to their 3-layer construction, like plywood, so less resin is needed, making them both light and strong. Pelican brings innovation, comfort and style to entry-level prices.
- Wilderness Systems is a leader in kayak performance and comfort. The South Carolina-based company has developed hull designs that allow efficient paddling while utilizing flare above the waterline, which gives stability while not adding to surface friction.
- Perception designs kayaks for fun and relaxation on the water. The company said their kayak designs allow any level of paddler to feel stable and secure on the water, which allows them to relax and enjoy being on the water.
- Dagger is a leader in designing kayaks for moving water. Rivers and current present unique challenges, and Dagger creates hull designs that the company said allows paddlers to experience the thrill of river paddling while not worrying about stability.
“When we added kayaks to the Meyer lineup four to five years ago, we knew Pelican would one day be part of the family of brands with their diverse line up,” said Nick Gramelspacher, VP of brand strategy for Meyer. “They literally have a kayak or boat for every consumer: entry-level price points, boats, fishing and hardcore users on raging rapids.”
