Goldschmitt HLC Smart Levelling System Features Emergency Lowering Option
Goldschmitt has announced that its HLC Smart levelling system offers an optional emergency unlocking feature. The company said this feature has been designed in the event that a jack-supported motorhome can no longer be lowered due to a system failure.
“Many manufacturers equip their hydraulic jack systems with a hand lever at the hydraulic unit, which allows the user to manually retract the individual jacks,” the company said in a press announcement. “Goldschmitt has done away with such emergency operation in the HLC Smart for practical reasons and – most importantly – for safety reasons. Instead, Goldschmitt relies on an innovative and extremely customer-friendly solution that allows for manual emergency lowering safely and conveniently from the driver’s seat.”
The company said the HLC Smart can be equipped or retrofitted with the electric emergency release at the customer’s request. For this purpose, the hydraulic unit is furnished with an additional adapter attached between the fluid manifold and the hose connections. The valve block extension has an integrated switching valve and can be connected to the cigarette lighter of the vehicle by means of a previously laid cable. When plugging it in, the switching valve is opened by the current pulse, which allows the fluid to flow back to the fluid reservoir. The vehicle weight presses the pistons upwards. Then, the hydraulic cylinders can be pressed in manually.
Goldschmitt said it is happy to accommodate customers who do not opt for the optional emergency unlocking.
“All versions of the HLC Smart are generally equipped with an integrated emergency lowering function that can be used to lower the levelled vehicle,” it said. “However, this requires intervention at the hydraulic unit or swapping the hydraulic plugs as well as expert safeguarding of the vehicle.”
