Rapidious Titan.AI: Know How Deep To Cut on Aged RVs

Across 805,811 RVs over 14 months, aged units that sold had a median ~12.5% markdown. Rapidious Titan.AI recommends the right market-backed cut, unit by unit.

Cut Once, Cut Right: The Smarter Way To Price Aged RV Inventory

Most dealers handle an aged unit the same way: trim the price 2%–3%, wait, trim again. It feels careful. The data says it’s the most expensive habit on the lot.

Rapidious Titan.AI tracked 805,811 RVs across 3,000-plus dealership rooftops every day for 14 months — real listing and pricing activity, not a model. When they looked at units that had aged past 180 days and then sold, they shared one thing: they’d been marked down a median of about 12.5% off their original asking price before they moved. Smaller, incremental cuts generally weren’t enough on their own.

What that means in practice: Take an aged RV listed at $40,000. Units like it typically didn’t sell until the price had dropped about 12.5% — roughly $5,000 off, to around $35,000. Trimming $800 or $1,000 at a time rarely got there. The unit just kept sitting while the discount slowly stacked up.

Why we can claim this: It isn’t a guess or a forecast. It’s the median discount actually observed on aged units that sold, across more than 800,000 real listings over 14 months. And it holds by segment:

  • Toy Hauler: ~14.9%
  • Class A: ~13.6%
  • Travel Trailer: ~12.9%
  • Class B: ~12.0%
  • Class C: ~11.6%

If your markdown is smaller than the number for that segment, you’re usually not pricing to sell — you’re pricing to sit and cut again. Units past 180 days get cut anyway 83% of the time, and after three or four defensive trims, the total discount runs up to nearly 20%.

So the fix is simple to say and hard to do by feel: Cut once, to the right number, early.

One decisive adjustment beats a slow bleed: on days on the lot, on carrying cost, and on the final discount.

The hard part is knowing the right number for your unit. Those figures are medians. The actual number depends on the unit’s exact year, trim, condition, and your local market, and all of it moves week to week.

That’s what Rapidious Titan.AI does. It reads live RV retail data and tells you the price that actually moves each unit on your lot, so you cut once, at the right depth, instead of guessing.

Pricing aged inventory is one use. For every dealership, Rapidious Titan.AI also helps you:

  • Catch aging units before they force a deeper cut
  • See how fast each class and brand is really selling in your market
  • Appraise trades against live retail comps
  • Know whether any unit is priced above or below the market
  • Track your market daily, not from a stale snapshot

The dealers who win aren’t the ones who hold price the longest. They’re the ones who read the market and adapt their pricing to it.
