The eighth staging of All in Caravanning (AIC), a trade fair for campervans and caravans in China, exceeded all expectations and succeeded in topping last year’s record results, according to the organization. About 700 exhibitors from 22 countries showcased more than 200 brands on 398,000 square feet of exhibit space at the Etrong International Exhibition & Convention Center in Beijing.
A total of 48% of the companies were international exhibitors. The three-day exhibition attracted more than 4,000 visitors from Hong Kong SAR, Taiwan region, Germany, France, Australia, Italy, Canada, India, Mongolia, South Korea, Japan, as well as other countries/regions – an increase of 8% compared to the previous edition. About 500 RVs were on display.
“When All in Caravanning started here in China in 2012, this was a very new topic, not known to many people in China,” said Wolfram Diener, managing director of Messe Düsseldorf. “In the meantime, caravanning is becoming more and more popular, and we are sure that alongside the show will grow and coming here a very bright future. We see the rise in visitor numbers as a clear indication of the growing interest in caravan vacationing. The innovations presented here went down excellently and the sales concluded also exceeded expectations.”
All in Caravanning 2019 reflected the growth of China’s caravanning and camping markets, the organization stated. Exhibitors reported many new business deals and sales results during the trade fair. The show organizers will continue to work with well-known enterprises to bring potential customers with purchasing authority to the event. This year, visitor delegations brought 500 attendees to AIC.
In addition to vehicles, accessories and outdoor products have also gained in popularity and AIC featured the latest electrical appliances, kitchen and bathroom furniture, camping equipment and caravan improvement products.
Special highlights were the first Asian RV Conference, the Sino-German Dealer Workshop, and the Sino-German Guided Camping Experience Exchange Meeting. More than 800 participants took part.
Other popular events were “AIC Dream Tour” by renowned RV travelers Kostya Abert (Germany) and Zhang Guangzhi (China) and the first “AIC Starter World” with practical tips by experts on vehicle models, travel routes, equipment and vehicle technology.
“The atmosphere at the convention center was great and we welcomed many families with kids,” said Stefan Koschke, global head Caravanning & Outdoor at Messe Düsseldorf. “We are particularly pleased that our new entertainment concept was so well accepted.”
