The National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (ARVC) and the ARVC Foundation officially opened the organization’s first consumer-facing silent auction on May 1. The auction, focused on creating experiences for campers, will be open on GoCampingAmerica.com until May 31.
This is the first year the ARVC Foundation, a nonprofit organization, has opened the auction up to bidding by consumers. The auction, hosted at www.BiddingForGood.com/ARVCFoundation, will raise funds to help further the ARVC Foundation’s mission to provide top educational opportunities to members of the campground industry.
There are currently 21 experiences available for bidding, with a total value of more than $8,000. All proceeds from the auction will go to benefit the ARVC Foundation.
The ARVC Foundation has chosen to advertise and host the auction on GoCampingAmerica.com and BiddingForGood.com respectively because of the high amount of consumer visibility. Each month, more than 35,000 campers use GoCampingAmerica.com to plan their next vacation and more than 2 million people use BiddingForGood.com to purchase items and help support nonprofit organizations and causes.
“It just makes sense,” said Ken Mowad, executive director of development for the ARVC Foundation. “We wanted to create a win-win and this is it. When ARVC-member parks donate items to the auction they get basically free advertising to the thousands of campers who use GoCampingAmerica.com as their trip planner, and the ARVC Foundation raises money to help create education for our industry.”
