ARVC, RVs 4 MDs Partner

The National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (ARVC) has partnered with RVs 4 MDs, a Facebook-based organization that matches medical personnel with donated RVs and accommodations while they help combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

ARVC member-parks with available sites can sign up to offer free RV sites or other accommodations for doctors, nurses and other health-care personnel who are seeking a place to stay during the crisis.

RVs 4 MDs started from the outcry of thousands of health-care providers across the country looking for alternative accommodations to avoid exposing their families to the virus. Additionally, there have been many health-care providers who have relocated to COVID-19 “hot spots” and are in need of housing while they are away from their homes.

“So many of our parks across the country have remained open as essential businesses because they have been able to accommodate traveling medical personnel, so this was a natural fit for ARVC,” said Paul Bambei, president and CEO of ARVC. “Not all of our member parks are going to be able to participate, based on their state’s current orders, but many that are open have been asking us about ways they can help. This is a great way to help.”

ARVC member-park owners can participate by providing sites, RVs or other accommodations to RVs 4 MDs at a free or reduced rate.

If your park wants to participate, submit this form.

Submitted information will be added to a secure online database that RVs 4 MDs volunteer coordinators in each state will be able to access to determine if they can match a health-care professional in need, an RV owner with a rig to donate and an ARVC-member park in the area.

ARVC has also shared its state-by-state tracker with RVs 4 MDs so the they can stay informed on whether campgrounds are open or closed in a particular state. The tracker is available, along with other resources, on ARVC’s coronavirus information hub at arvc.org/coronavirus.
