The Boston RV & Camping Expo at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center in the city’s Seaport District begins this weekend.
The show is owned and produced by Paragon Group of Needham, Mass.
“The adoption of healthy lifestyles in pursuit of various outdoor adventures continues to expand the demographics of campers nationwide,” said Carolyn Weston, group director at Outdoor Lifestyle Shows. “Our show reflects the variety of RV products and accessories that enhance the lifestyle for all ages and budgets. We expect to see a lot of young professionals who work in the ever-expanding Seaport District. They will have an opportunity to enjoy the show on Friday evening, before leaving the city and fighting Friday night traffic.”
This year the show will have everything from folding camping trailers to 40-foot luxury diesel pusher motorhomes, according to the New England RV Dealers Association (NERVDA).
“While it is impossible to have every brand and every model that the industry offers, the best dealers in New England will be showcasing a representative sample of what the industry has to offer,” said Weston.
“We have over 15 major dealers and suppliers from five of the six New England states at this premier show,” said Bob Zagami, executive director of NERVDA. “There will be over 200 units on display. Trending this year are bunkhouse models that can accommodate up to 10 people – great for families and their friends, outdoor kitchens, units with 1.5 bathrooms, lofts, offices for those who want to work on the road, off-road models for young adults who want to have a comfortable RV that allows them to enjoy their outdoor activities, park model and destination campers for seasonal camping, new camper vans and motorhomes that let people enjoy their life on the road. Enhanced solar panel and lithium battery technology will be seen on many more RVs this year.”
Complementing the show will be seminars to educate and enhance the RVing experience.
“We have expanded our program this year with two national industry experts on Saturday and Sunday,” said Weston. “Janine Pettit, founder of Girl Camper, will showcase camping from the women’s perspective. She’ll talk about making your RV your home on the road and discuss various activities of the Girl Camper Community. Mike Sokol, the industry’s leading expert on RV electricity, will show attendees how to safely enjoy their RV and the campgrounds they visit. In addition to these two speakers, Bob Zagami will once again present his ‘Introduction to RVs and the RV Lifestyle Seminar’ that always plays to standing room only crowds. Bob has been presenting this popular seminar for over ten years at our show. We are delighted to have Cathy Pedtke back with us this year. Cathy is a Food Rescue Coordinator with Boston’s Lovin’ Spoonfuls – a food rescue company. She will be teaching campers about low food waste cooking while on the road or in the campground. We also have seminars on how to enjoy your first camping trip and a discussion on RV service issues.”
New this year will be a meet and greet with John DiPietro and Zagami, co-hosts of “RVing in New England,” which can be viewed at 7 p.m. on Wednesday on the NERVDA Facebook page. For more information, visit www.bostonrvexpo.com.
