Florida-based Campers Inn RV, one of the fastest growing RV dealership groups in the nation, has promoted two employees to key corporate staff positions to support its dealership growth strategy as it looks to add more locations in the Western region of the U.S.
Richard Chynoweth Jr., formerly the internet sales department manager, is now director of strategic initiatives for Campers Inn RV, and Randy Goodwin, formerly general manager for the Macon, Ga., location, is now general manager trainer.
“The best part of our expansion strategy is being able to offer more opportunities for our employees to grow their careers,” said Jeff Hirsch, CEO and president of Campers Inn RV. “We are focused now more than ever on providing continuous support to our customers at home and on the road while becoming the RVer’s trusted resource for all RVers across the U.S.”
In his new role, Chynoweth will oversee various areas of business development in sales and RV buying, ensuring that the dealerships are able to stay agile and successful as the company continues to expand.
As the general manager trainer, Goodwin will support new stores during the onboarding process and help their management teams learn Campers Inn RV’s processes in sales, service, parts and customer service.
Since last year, Campers Inn RV has added four new locations in the Midwest, bringing the number in that region to six and the total nationwide of 30 locations.
“We are now well positioned for growth westward. With Ricky and Randy, as well as the entire leadership team we have put together, we are ready to grow in the Pacific and Mountain west,” said Ben Hirsch, COO of Campers Inn RV. “With these new corporate positions, we will be able to better support new dealership locations as we onboard them, while continuing to ensure the success and satisfaction of our existing dealerships.”
Combined, Chynoweth and Goodwin bring more than 30 years of experience in the RV industry and at Campers Inn RV. Chynoweth started his career with Campers Inn RV in 2006 in finance and became the general manager of the Leesburg, Fla., location in 2013. Since then, he has worked in various areas of the company to include regional director of the Southeast in 2016 before taking a corporate position as Internet Sales manager in 2020. Goodwin has 20 years of experience in the RV business and over 14 years of experience at Campers Inn RV, where he served in various roles from opening the Macon, Ga., location as a sales and finance manager in 2008 to become general manager of the location for several years before taking on the general manager trainer role.
