An RV dealership chain has donated $275,000 to help rebuild the fire hall in the community of Loon Lake.
This story by James Peters originally appeared in CFJC Today.
The fire hall was destroyed in the 2017 Elephant Hill wildfire.
In a news release, the Thompson-Nicola Regional District says the major donation came from Fraserway RV.
The chain ran a five-week fundraising campaign to help wildfire-affected communities with a $500,000 goal.
It ended up raising a total of $670,000, and will distribute the funds to a variety of different non-profits and municipalities, including a $20,000 donation to the Village of Cache Creek to help replace a fire truck.
