Thor Industries and six of its subsidiaries donated $15,000 and nine RV units to Tents for Troops. The new 2019 units come fully equipped with necessities and enable active military members (including National Guard and Reserves) and their families to create lifelong memories outdoors free of charge.
The nine units were donated by Thor subsidiaries Airstream, Heartland, Starcraft, K-Z, Keystone, Dutchman and Crossroads.
Tents for Troops is a non-profit program that partners with campgrounds and RV parks, as well as RV manufacturers, industry associations and suppliers, to provide active military members and their families with a complimentary getaway at one of 300 parks and campgrounds across 49 states. About 50 percent of participants choose to camp in RVs, making the need for additional units crucial to Tents for Troops’ mission.
“Our organization is beyond thankful to Thor Industries and its subsidiaries for their generous donation,” said Charlie Curry, founder of Tents for Troops. “With Thor’s support, we are able to expand our reach and give back to more of the brave men, women and families who sacrifice their lives for our country every day.”
“This is just a small token of gratitude we can give to those who dedicate their lives to courageously serving our country,” said Bob Martin, president and CEO of Thor Industries. “This donation represents much more than giving RVs. We hope they provide these families time away from their demanding duties to relax, connect and spend quality time with each other. The outdoors have an innate healing power, and we are honored to provide this retreat.”
