The National RV Training Academy (NRVTA) today announced David Henderson joined its team as the new national sales manager.

The Albany, Georgia, resident will oversee three student advisors and work directly with Tony Flammia, NRVTA’s director of sales and marketing, to help students identify the best courses and programs to achieve their professional goals, whether that is getting a job or going into business for themselves.

Henderson

Henderson has more than 25 years of experience working in college admissions jobs, primarily for technical schools that specialize in preparing people for specific careers. For example, one of his most recent jobs was as the corporate director of admissions for Heavy Equipment Colleges of America, which trains people to operate bulldozers, cranes and excavators.

He is a U.S. Air Force veteran who worked as an aircraft mechanic during the first Gulf War. When he’s not working, Henderson races motorcycles at speeds exceeding 100 mph on paved tracks, something he has done for more than 30 years.

“It is a privilege to work for NRVTA. Because it is a very impressive school, the biggest challenge will be to build awareness of the academy outside the RV industry,” said Henderson. “There is a growth mentality among the staff, and I’ll be helping them improve the sales function and coaching the team on ways to enroll more students.

“There is definitely a lot of opportunity to introduce people from similar tech fields to the money-making opportunities available to RV inspectors and technicians,” he said. “The RV industry needs more skilled and highly trained technicians. There are plenty of men and women working in dead-end jobs in other industries who would jump into the RV industry if they knew more about all the opportunities available to them.”

“We were fortunate to attract someone of David’s caliber to NRVTA,” said Flammia. “He has a strong background of successfully expanding schools like NRVTA and attracting students who desire an opportunity to launch new technical careers or start small businesses of their own.”
