Appliance and outdoor equipment manufacturer Dometic’s recent announcement that it is shutting down manufacturing at its Elkhart, Ind., plant will lead to 150 people losing their jobs, according to Josh Williams from 95.3MSN radio in Michiana.
According to the story, the layoffs will be in late May.
That’s bad news for the workers, but they will be entering what is very much a job seeker’s market, with the unemployment rate in Elkhart County in January reported at 1.9 percent. That’s actually down from December’s total.
