An education lineup and a 50th anniversary celebration will headline Industry Days held from Sept. 10–11, in Hershey, Pa. The event is presented by the Pennsylvania RV and Camping Association (PRVCA), a statewide association working to promote, expand and improve the RV and camping industry.
Since the RV Industry Association (RVIA) canceled its National RV Trade Show in Louisville in favor of its new RVX event in 2019, Hershey will be offering a view of 2019 products and accessories, and a chance to talk to manufacturer representatives, network and attend education sessions for education credits.
Monday, Sept. 10, is reserved as an Education Day, featuring technician training, and Tuesday, Sept. 11, as Dealer Day with exhibits open to industry staff, as well as more education events, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The educational training and show are held at the Giant Center at 550 W. Hersheypark Drive in Hershey, Pa.
The RV Doctor, Gary Bunzer, will present “SealTech Leak Testing” starting at 10 a.m. on Sept. 10 and Sept. 11. A water leak penetrating the exterior of the RV is difficult to diagnose and can cause serious damage. Bunzer will provide a hands-on segment to train technicians to determine any exterior air or water leak with 100-percent accuracy.
Other sessions on Monday, Sept. 10, include Dometic Air Conditioning and Atwood Water Heating Training; LP Gas Systems with Marshall Excelsiar; RV toilets and sanitation system care with Thetford; Horizon Global Training for Reese weight distribution and sway control, fifth wheel hitches and mounting systems; Tekonsha ZCI “Snap Don’t Snip” tow vehicle wiring solutions and Bull Dog powered fifth wheel landing legs.
On Tuesday, Sept. 11, technicians can attend sessions on electric leveling and in-wall slide-outs or Cummins training on engines and generators from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Dealer Day featured sessions include “Social Media 101: Master the Basics of Building your online brand”; “Selling the Easiest Customer First” presented by KMS Keller, and The ABCs of Trailer Suspension with MorRyde.
On Tuesday, PRVCA will host a 50th anniversary party at the AACA Antique Auto Museum, 161 Museum Drive, Hershey, Pa. The event will feature networking, cocktails and a tour of the museum exhibits, a buffet dinner and time to reminisce about the last 50 years of Pennsylvania RV Shows.
Other highlights include recognition for Chairman’s Awards, Education Achievement and Volunteer of the Year; and the popular silent auction featuring exciting items such as signed sports memorabilia, electronics, gift baskets and overnight stays.
The dealer show preview, education events and membership dinner are free for PRVCA members. Non-members are welcome to attend for a nominal fee. Registration is required to attend.
