Massive flames ripped through the Waits RV Center in Riviera Beach, Fla., along Byron Drive on Sunday night, destroying five units.
This story by Thomas Forester originally appeared on CBS12 News.
Insurance claim adjusters were on the property late Monday morning assessing the damage.
Bill Waites, the owner of the dealership, told CBS12 he doesn’t know what started the fire, but he had nothing but praise for the performance of Riviera Beach Fire Rescue.
Firefighters battled the blaze just after 9:30 p.m. Sunday.
Three RVs and two trailers were destroyed by the flames.
According to Waites, he says he’s glad the flames didn’t reach the main building where the vehicles are serviced, but most of all there were no injuries.
“As long as no one got hurt,” says Waites. “It’s not a big deal. It is a big deal but it’s not. It’s just a material thing. They can be replaced. We are grateful we’re still open for business.”
More than 200 customers were affected because of the fire. However, service has since been restored.
