Fleetwood RV’s Glenn Kummer Dies at 87

Glenn Kummer, the former president and chief operating officer of Fleetwood Enterprises, died in Linton, Utah, recently at the age of 87.

The son of a silver miner, Kummer was born in Park City, Utah, and later moved to southern California, where he took a job with Fleetwood Enterprises, an RV maker that had been founded by John Crean in the early 1950s.

Kummer had worked his way up to president and chief operating officer by 1982, and under his guidance Fleetwood became  the only Fortune 500 company Riverside had ever seen.

After retiring he returned to Utah, where he was very involved in his community. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn, but together the two had six children, 26 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
