Family RVing magazine recently received recognition from Association Media and Publishing (AM&P). Family RVing earned an EXCEL Award for its 2018 publication redesign. The Family RVing staff worked with Bates Creative of Silver Spring, Md., to develop the new look for the monthly RV magazine.
Bates Creative is an award-winning agency in the Washington, D.C., area that specializes in brand-building, as well as digital and print strategy, design, and development.
The design work Bates Creative did for FMCA included a new nameplate for the magazine, which had been known as Family Motor Coaching since its debut in February 1964. The change to Family RVing magazine helped signal the expansion of the FMCA RV club to include all types of RVs. Prior to a vote of the membership in December 2017, the focus was on motorized RVs, known as motorhomes.
“We are excited to receive this award and want to thank the team at Bates Creative for developing a look for the magazine that reflects the fun and excitement of the RV lifestyle,” said Jon Walker, FMCA president. “The Bates Creative team was great to work with, and we are pleased with the results and happy to see the redesign recognized via an EXCEL award.”
