Formula Trailers, a Bristol, Ind., cargo trailer company, has purchased certain assets and intellectual rights for Impact Trailers. The transaction occurring April 23 was for an undisclosed amount.
The former Elkhart, Ind.-based Impact Trailers was founded in 2017 and closed manufacturing operations in April. Formula Trailers, which began production in July 2018 under the leadership of Jeff Troyer, is experiencing rapid growth and Troyer has brought on Impact’s founders, Brad Bell and Dwight Barnes.
Bell and Barnes will bolster the sales of Formula/Impact and bring its products to the Formula offering. Additionally, Impact dealers will now have wholesale and retail financing available to their dealerships.
Formula Trailers operates in a 110,000-square-foot facility, located at 19224 Co Rd. 8, Bristol, Ind., which will accommodate Impact Trailers and provide space to grow its brands. Formula currently produces both steel and aluminum enclosed and open cargo trailers, car haulers and snowmobile trailers.
Formula Trailers will continue to manufacture trailers under the Formula brand name, while building strong dealer partnerships with a second product offering. The Impact cargo trailer models Tremor and Shockwave will continue to be built with the features and value that dealers and customers expect from the brand.
“Brad and Dwight have done an excellent job with Impact and I am excited to add them to our outstanding team,” said Troyer. “Along with Brent Sheehan’s experience and knowledge, we feel we have the best team in the business. We are looking forward to adding the Impact name to our business and building the best quality race and cargo products in the industry.”
