More than a dozen key leaders from Tiffin Motorhomes – including President Leigh Tiffin – recently traveled to the Gaffney, South Carolina, headquarters of Freightliner Custom Chassis Corp. (FCCC) for two days of intensive factory training and product immersion.
The event also provided Tiffin leaders considerable time to share with FCCC team members a comprehensive overview of the company’s product and service strategies, its extensive legacy in the industry and their excitement at how this new partnership will add value to Tiffin owners in the coming years.
The training is the next step in preparing Tiffin and FCCC employees in advance of the production of Tiffin’s next-generation PowerGlide Class A diesel chassis beginning in 2024.
“This training was incredibly helpful and enlightening for our team,” said Tiffin. “Not only did it provide us an incredible overview into FCCC and its team, it only strengthened our confidence that they are the right partner to take the next generation of PowerGlide to the next level.”
“We were thrilled to welcome the Tiffin team to Gaffney and provide them a first-hand look at what sets us apart – and why we’re so excited about our coming partnership,” added Jeff Sather, president and CEO of FCCC. “This partnership truly brings the best of FCCC and Tiffin together, enabling both companies to focus on what they do best while benefiting from their shared cultures of pride of workmanship, attention to detail and doing things right the first time. This was an important next step in our partnership.”
Through the collaboration, originally announced in March, the two leaders in the luxury Class A diesel segment will intertwine their strengths where FCCC will be instrumental in the manufacturing and nationwide service of PowerGlide. FCCC’s advanced manufacturing processes will develop a custom-built chassis that seamlessly integrates into the Tiffin coach body, while its nationwide service network will help enhance and expand the legendary customer service and support Tiffin PowerGlide customers expect.
The new partnership brings with it a number of features and benefits unique to FCCC products, including:
- RoadWatch, FCCC’s integrated technology and safety suite featuring proven stability and traction control, collision mitigation and adaptive cruise control
- DriveTech, an RV driving system to maximize safety by putting every command in one easy-to-reach location
