ELKHART, Ind. – The first day of Open House Week 2018 finished off with a bang – or, more appropriately, the roar of guitar riffs from the 1980s.
Loverboy and Eddie Money performed at the Grand Design Dealers Rock event, which moved to the Furrion facility from Bar Louie this year as the crowd had outgrown its previous venue.
The extra space was not wasted, as the crowd filled the center and a small overflow group even gathered in a tent outside to watch Monday Night Football.
Earlier in the evening, a smaller, more subdued crowd gathered in the botanical gardens across the street from Dometic’s downtown facility for the second annual Chillin’ & Grillin’ Party in the Garden.
Celebrity chef Kevin Roberts grilled up a culinary feast for guests, who then were treated to concerts by Stephanie Quayle and The Swon Brothers.
Heavy rain is in the forecast for the Elkhart area today, so crowds at the vehicle displays could be smaller, although many at the Hall of Fame grounds on Monday already were armed with umbrellas.
Events scheduled for tonight include a Casino Night party at the Thor exhibit and a concert by Kid Rock at the Forest River Dynamax plant.
