General RV Center recently celebrated the groundbreaking of its 15th supercenter, in South Weber, Utah, approximately 30 miles north of Salt Lake City. It is the second General RV store to open in the state. City and local leaders joined General RV representatives to celebrate the start of construction.
“We came to the valley in 2009 and our business has continued to grow over the years,” said General RV President Loren Baidas during Friday’s groundbreaking ceremony. “We’ve always talked about what the next step was, and we dreamed of adding a second store to Utah. We were diligent to find a great piece of property and a great city to work with. We’re very excited about the expansion here in South Weber, Utah.”
The new supercenter will house a 65,000-square-foot facility, with 30 service bays, including a body shop, and the capacity to hold 450 RVs. The South Weber store is projected to bring 110 jobs to the local economy.
“We are very pleased with General RV coming to town”” said South Weber Mayor Rod Westbroek. “We appreciate it and are looking forward to great things.”
General RV Center currently owns and operates 14 Supercenters across seven states. The company opened its first Utah store, in Draper, in 2009. Statistical Surveys Inc. named General RV Draper as the leading RV dealer in Utah and the state’s top motorized RV Dealer.
The South Weber store is expected to open in fall of 2024.
