General RV Center is expanding its footprint with the addition of a Winter Garden, Florida, location.
Located less than 20 miles west of Orlando, this will be General RV’s sixth Supercenter in the state and 20th location nationwide. The new Supercenter, to be purchased from family-owned Independence RV, further cements General RV as Florida’s largest family-owned dealership, it said.
General RV currently operates four other Florida Supercenters located in Orange Park (near Jacksonville), Dover (near Tampa), Ocala and Fort Pierce (near Port St. Lucie). The company also recently announced a new Florida Supercenter located in Fort Myers, slated to open in the first quarter of 2024.
“As demonstrated by the excellent reputation and relationship Independence RV has built with its customers, in addition to the dedication of its team, we are fortunate to be the stewards moving forward of the quality, family-owned business built here,” said General RV President Loren Baidas.
Existing employees will remain with the store as General RV explores opportunities to grow the business.
“Everyone we have talked to is happy that I sold to General RV,” said Independence RV owner Ronnie Jordan, who is retiring. “It really is the best fit for our dealership and our people.”
This is the sixth new location General RV has announced in 2023. In November, General RV acquired Stoltzfus RV and Marine, making it the company’s second Pennsylvania store in West Chester. Last month, the company also announced two new Florida Supercenters located in Fort Pierce and Fort Myers. Earlier this year, General RV broke ground on a second dealership in South Weber, Utah, and its first-ever Supercenter in Salisbury, North Carolina. Both locations are scheduled to open in late 2024.
