The Great Lakes RV Association (GLRVA) has named Amy Girton as executive director. The GLRVA is a trade organization in Northeast Ohio comprised of 12 RV dealers and related businesses representing eight Northeast Ohio counties, including Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Portage, Stark, and Summit Counties.
The GLRVA’s mission is to educate the public about RVs and the RV lifestyle. The GLRVA produces the Ohio RV Supershow each January at the I-X Center in Cleveland and also the Outdoor RV Bargain Expo in September at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds. The Supershow in January boasts more than 600 RVs, including tent campers, travel trailers, fifth wheels, toy haulers, and motorhomes.
“I am honored to have been selected to serve as the executive director of the GLRVA and look forward to continuing the momentum and growth of the RV industry in Northeast Ohio,” said Girton. “The Outdoor RV Bargain Expo is Sept. 13-15 at the Cuyahoga Fairgrounds, and the 44th Annual Ohio RV Supershow is set for Jan. 8-12 at the I-X Center in Cleveland, Ohio. I look forward to working on these events to continue their longstanding success and bring awareness and support of the GLRVA members in Northeast Ohio.”
Prior to joining GLRVA, Girton was VP of marketing for North American Midway Entertainment (NAME), a traveling midway company in North America, handling media and marketing in 20 states across the U.S. and four Canadian provinces. Prior to joining NAME, Girton was the marketing director at the I-X Center and managed several I-X Center-owned consumer shows.
Girton will oversee the daily functions of the GLRVA and its mission to unite those engaged in the recognized branches of the RV industry. She will also manage all facets of the Ohio RV Supershow and the Outdoor RV Bargain Expo.
“With Amy’s vast knowledge of media, marketing, and public relations, alongside her extensive management of events in her career, she was the ideal candidate for this position,” said Bob Pastore, chairman of the GLRVA. “Our board is confident Amy will elevate the GLRVA to even greater awareness, which will lead to more RV sales in Northeast Ohio.”
