Richard C. Mynsberge, 91, died peacefully on Monday July 20, 2026, surrounded by family. The following is an obituary from Hahn Funeral Homes:
Richard was born on November 5, 1934, in South Bend to Charles and Anna Mynsberge. He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Barbara; his brothers, Robert, Maurice, Alfonse, and George; sisters, Lorraine Freese and Irene Glassford; daughters, Julie Kline and Kimberly Mynsberge and granddaughter, Holly Kline. Surviving are his son Steven (Alisa) Mynsberge; special nephew and niece, David and Marie Klingerman; his loving grandchildren, Jennifer Taylor, Sara Kline, Brittany (Sian) Bagshawe, Matthew (Kristen) Mynsberge, Adam Winston, Jamarcus Porter and 7 great grandchildren.
Richard was a member of St. Bavo’s Parish and the BK Club.
Richard or Dick, as he was known in the industry and by his friends, was a prolific entrepreneur. Upon graduating from the University of Notre Dame and getting a very successful start in the mobile home business, he founded, either solely or with partners, 26 businesses across his lifetime spanning the mobile home and RV industries, banking, and real estate. He had a stellar reputation in the local business community where he was revered for his business acumen, integrity, professionalism, camaraderie and good nature. Dick was a gambler, both literally and figuratively. He was prolific in his business gambles but also loved, and was very skillful at, shooting craps right up to his last days. Dick was best, however, at providing and caring for his family throughout his life. He had a good and tender heart, especially for children and served as a perfect father figure to us all throughout our lives.
Remembrance of Richard will be held at Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th St., Mishawaka, Indiana, on Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 4 p.m.– 8 p.m. Service will be held the next day, Friday, July 24, 2026, at 10 a.m., in St. Bavo Catholic Church, 501 W 7th St, Mishawaka.
