Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resorts in 2018 set a new all-time record for sales, the company reported. System-wide revenues increased 6.1 percent over the prior year to $125 million. It was the franchise company’s 10th consecutive year of sales growth. Growth was primarily driven by existing locations as same park revenues increased 5.7 percent.
“Increases in the ancillary revenues generated at Jellystone Park locations continued to be a key contributor to our growth,” said Jim Westover, VP of sales and product development. “More and more customers are selecting add-on experiences, ranging from character interactions to golf cart rentals, via our reservations systems before they even begin their stay.”
Westover noted that Jellystone Park created the family camping and entertainment concept 50 years ago but continues to be recognized as one of the nation’s best franchises.
“We’re incredibly proud of the successes we and our franchisees have enjoyed over the past decade,” said Westover. “The national franchising honors that we recently received prove that we’re poised for even more success in the future.”
In January, Entrepreneur magazine ranked Jellystone Park among the nation’s top franchise opportunities and first in its category. Jellystone Park was ranked No. 202 on Entrepreneur’s Franchise 500 list, up 63 slots from the prior year, thanks to the company’s growth, innovation, and franchisee satisfaction.
That same month, Franchise Business Review named Jellystone Park to its Top 200 franchise list based on franchisees’ responses to questions regarding their financial performance, how they rate the franchise’s long-term growth opportunities, and their willingness to “do it again.”
