Keystone RV and Jayco this week face similar recalls of trailers that may have an incorrectly wired breakaway switch, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
If the trailer detaches from the tow vehicle, the breakaway switch may not activate the brakes, increasing the risk of a crash.
For Keystone, the company is recalling certain 2020 Crossroads Hampton and Sunset recreational trailers. The breakaway switch may have been incorrectly wired, which can cause the trailer brakes to not function in the event of a trailer separation from the tow vehicle.
