New PRVCA Members Take Office

Pennsylvania RV and Camping Association’s (PRVCA) new officers and board members, elected at the annual meeting on Sept. 11 in Hershey, Pa., officially took office on Nov. 1.

Greg Starr, Starr’s Trailer Sales, Brockway, Pa., is the new chairman. Starr is president of his family-owned business, which began serving western Pennsylvania in 1968. He worked in the company’s sales department for 11 years, formerly serving as vice president of sales. He is a certified RV inspection mechanic and a member of the RV Dealers Association, where he is a board of delegates member. He was PRVCA’s Northwestern District Director before rising through the officer ranks. He currently participates in the association’s Bylaws Committee and the Membership/Education Committee. Starr earned his bachelor’s degree in business marketing from Clarion University.

Tim Umstead, secretary, treasurer and principal, Trumark Dealer Services, a financial and insurance company; serves as vice chairman. He has more than 20 years of experience in the RV industry and 30 years in the banking industry. Prior to founding Trumark, he worked in various lending management positions with two large financial companies and for Tobin Associates. He is a past PRVCA chairman and served on the Show, By-Laws, F&I, and Long-Range Planning Committees.

The membership selected three new members to serve on the board of directors. They are Nick Boyer, Stephanie Reeder and Rocky Riley.

The Northwestern District Director is Nick Boyer of Boyer RV Center, Erie, Pa. He grew up around camping and RVs as a member of the family business. During the past 15 years, he honed his skills in every aspect of the dealership including sales, finance, insurance, fixed ops, marketing, management, and accounting. His accomplishments include RVIA Master Tech certification, Pa. Insurance Producer Licensure, creating Boyer RV’s first website, developing an F&I department from scratch, several DMS roll-outs and a complete restructuring of fixed operations.

Stephanie Reeder, Lerch RV, Milroy, Pa., is the Central District Director. She began her career in the RV industry in 1986, where she worked her way through various positions at the dealership. She currently puts her more than 30 years of experience to use as the company’s comptroller. Reeder earned her degree in Elementary Education from Shippensburg University.

Rocky Riley, Champion/Athens Park Model Homes, serves as the Park Model Manufacturer Director. Riley joined the company four years ago following his graduation from Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology in 2013, where he earned a degree in Architectural Technology. He is current working on his bachelor’s degree in Business Management at Elizabethtown College.

Four members were re-elected to serve on the board. They are Nick Palm, Tiffin Motorhomes, senior manufacturer director; Ed Unger, Campers Inn, southwestern district dealer director; Beverly Gruber, Pennsylvania Campground Owners Association, campground director; and Mike Bradley, DSC Financial Services, finance director. Chairman Greg Starr will appoint Dan Saltzgiver, Camping World of Hanover, as at-large director.

PRVCA members also voted to amend and change the by-laws so that the Rolling Stock Directors are no longer designated from a particular area.
