The National RV Training Academy announced the rollout of a complimentary trial program for consumers to evaluate content included in the RVTechCourse home-study course.
Taught by Todd Henson, NRVTA’s director of education, the full course features more than 81 short 15- to 20-minute video segments pertaining to major systems onboard every type of RV. The new trial program includes a free lesson from each of the primary categories in the RVTechCourse, including:
- RV electrical systems using either 120-volt AC power or 12-volt DC power
- RV propane systems and how to safely use it
- RV water systems whether using on-board tanks or connected to a water source
- RV appliances, including refrigerators, air conditioners, water heaters and furnaces
“That’s two hours of free training,” explained Tony Flammia, NRVTA director of sales and marketing. “People who have watched Todd’s weekly Tech Tip Tuesday videos on YouTube are already familiar with his style of teaching. However, people who have not seen Todd in action now have an opportunity to watch a few classes before opting to start the full home-study course.
“After completing the trial course, RV users know what they can expect from each of the lessons,” he added. “Our purpose is to ensure people know what to do if something is not working on their RV so they can enjoy the fun experiences they hoped to have after making a sizeable investment in the RV lifestyle.”
The school hopes the videos will empower RV owners, even those who do not have significant technical skills, with the knowledge they need to diagnose and fix most common problems on their motorhomes, fifth wheels and travel trailers, said Henson. The videos also explain how to perform routine maintenance on RVs to keep them ready to use.
“Having an RV is about adventure, not headaches,” said Henson. “We want people to worry about the road, not the repairs. This training will empower people to become educated RV owners by giving them confidence to save time and money repairing and maintaining their own RVs.”
