The National RV Training Academy (NRVTA) announced it is now approved by the Texas Veterans Commission, under the provision of Title 38, U.S. Code for VA educational benefits, to train veterans and other eligible persons for approved programs and courses required for those programs.
VA Educational Benefits includes the Post-9/11 GI Bill, the Montgomery GI Bill and other educational assistance programs. In addition to possible funding to attend NRVTA’s training programs, qualified applicants may also receive assistance for on-the-job training and career counseling.
“Because my partner, Steve Anderson, and I are veterans ourselves, we have been wanting to offer VA benefits since we started NRVTA,” said Terry “Cooper” Cooper, co-founder of the academy. “Military members are some of the most highly-disciplined and committed people in the country. To be able to help them transition into profitable civilian careers is a tremendous honor.
“There are more veterans in Texas than in any other state. We are fortunate to be in a position to help these dedicated men and women, who have already given so much in support of their country, to enjoy successful careers. With nearly 120,000 active-duty military members stationed in Texas, we can help them make a smooth transition into civilian life.”
The process for having NRVTA’s training programs reviewed and certified by the VA has been a goal for more than three years, said Stephanie Henson, director of administration.
“Our school was able to reach the final step this summer with a site visit by the Texas Veterans Commission (TVC), the agency responsible for approving programs like ours in the state of Texas. TVC representatives visited the NRVTA campus to see first-hand how we prepare students for jobs in the RV industry,” she said. “We are excited to welcome even more veterans to the NRVTA campus to prepare them for jobs in very high demand around the country.”
