Diane White, who founded United RV Center in Texas with her late husband, Bill, passed away on March 21 at 86 years old.
White was born on March 28, 1936, in Elgin, Texas, to Horace and Hazel Koenig. She grew up in Austin, where she first met her husband-to-be, W. H. “Bill” White, at Baker Junior High.
In 1965, they started United Sales of Texas, a wholesale mobile home and RV business. They both worked tirelessly together and were devoted to making it successful. The business later moved to Fort Worth and at one time, United Sales had wholesale warehouse locations in the five surrounding states. Through both of their hard work and dedication, United Sales was a multi-million-dollar company.
United Sales was sold in the early 1980s with the idea of retirement. With the desire to continue in the RV industry, they decided to open United RV Center in Fort Worth in 1985. They worked side by side until Bill’s passing in 1992. Diane White helped the company grow and enjoyed working alongside her daughter and two sons over the years. White retired March of 2018 at the age of 80.
She is survived by her children Debbie Ellis and husband Larry of Abilene, William H. “Bill.”
