Officials Suspect Arson for Bob Hurley RV Fire

It was a fire wall that could be seen for miles, getting the attention of Sergeant Joe Gamboa in Tulsa, Okla.

This story by Angelica Brown originally appeared in KTUL News 8.

“I saw a lot of smoke and flames coming from behind the building,” said Gamboa. “It just seemed very unusual.”

The flames shooting at least 100 feet in the air at Bob Hurley RV at I-44 & Union.

Tulsa Fire was calling this a difficult one, as the fire burned right next to a power pole, catching it on fire. Crews said they had a hard time getting it under control.

Before you know it, six RVs now charred and completely destroyed. The dealership estimates about one million in damages.

“It was a pretty significant fire because of the added combustibles from these RVs,” said Andy Little with the Tulsa Fire Department.

Fire officials are thinking the first spark came from someone.

“It is labeled incendiary, so they do believe it was started by someone,” said Little. “We’re still trying to get to the bottom of how it was started and why.”

The folks at the dealership were too upset to talk on camera but say they’ll be looking over surveillance video for answers.
