OHI Brings Back Takeaway Tours to OHCE 2026

If you’ve ever wanted to see and experience another park’s operations firsthand, OHI Takeaway Tours were built for you, OHI said in a recent release.

Takeaway Tours are behind-the-scenes tours of RV parks and campgrounds that give OHCE attendees an exclusive, up-close look at how OHI member parks operate. Park owners and staff share real-world insights, challenges and best practices during this immersive experience. Attendees have the opportunity to ask questions, explore solutions and leave with practical ideas they can apply at their own properties.

Transportation, lunch, and optional airport shuttle service following the tour are included, making it a half-day of learning, networking and exploration.

Takeaway Tours are designed for anyone — prospective owners, new park owners, seasoned owners, park managers and staff — who want more than theory. Whether you’re evaluating buying your first park, you’re in your first few years of ownership or you’re looking to enhance your current operation, these tours offer a rare look behind the scenes of a leading operation, OHI said. You’ll gain firsthand insight into areas such as guest check-in, amenities, operations and team culture, and leave with practical takeaways to bring back to your own property.

Takeaway Tours are offered as an add-on experience through OHCE (Outdoor Hospitality Conference & Expo). To participate:

  1. Register for OHCE
  2. During registration, select the Takeaway Tours add-on experience

Spots are limited, so OHI urged those interested to register early to secure a place.

The 2026 Take Away Tour offers an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at two successful outdoor hospitality destinations in Texas: Camp Quitcherbichin (Camp QYB) in Runaway Bay and The Vineyards Campground & Cabins in Grapevine.

Camp Quitcherbichin’ (Camp QYB)

Camp Quitcherbichin’ (Camp QYB) is unlike anything else in the outdoor hospitality world, OHI said, an RV park and cabin resort built on the vision of founder and CEO Justin McWilliams to create a place where every guest can truly “Leave Your Worries Behind.”

Secluded enough to feel like a true escape but easy to reach, Camp QYB operates with a mission that sets it apart: Escape. Indulge. Reconnect. It’s a philosophy baked into every decision on the property, and it gives attendees a look at what it means to deliver five-star hospitality in an outdoor setting.

The variety of ways to stay at Camp QYB alone makes it a fascinating study in accommodation diversity. Guests can choose from RV sites with full hook-ups and concrete pads, rustic family cabins with lofts and outdoor fireplaces, lakefront lake view cabins and a lake house perched beside Lake Bridgeport, themed Airstream trailers with covered porches facing the water, “Area 51” vessel homes with a sci-fi aesthetic and wraparound windows, old-west covered wagons equipped for modern comfort, a tiny house, the owner’s cabin, and the CampQYB Retreat with a private outdoor kitchen and hot tub. For park owners looking to diversify their revenue streams and guest mix, this is a masterclass in creative accommodation strategy, OHI said.

One of Camp QYB’s most distinctive operational features is its robust food and beverage program. The property runs multiple concept eateries, including Jo Mama’s (artisan pizza), Trailer Park Tacos (Tex-Mex), Sacred Cow Burger Co. (smash burgers and sandwiches), The Chill Station (ice cream, frozen beverages, and baked goods) and Honey Hole Saloon (craft cocktails and cold beer). A QYB Marketplace rounds out the retail side with camping essentials and provisions.

For attendees, seeing how Camp QYB manages this level of culinary programming with staffing, scheduling, guest experience and profitability, offers invaluable perspective on how food and beverage can elevate a park’s identity and revenue, OHI said.

There’s no shortage of ways to fill a day at Camp QYB. On the water, guests can fish, swim, kayak and paddleboard or rent boats. On land, there are ATVs, playgrounds, a sauna, hot tubs, fire pits, and a beach. Bookable experiences include night bow fishing, art classes, face painting, and water toys. Live music, a weekly Farmer’s Market (coming soon) and a full events calendar leaves no shortage of fun throughout the season.

The property also operates Delilah’s Ballroom, The Saloon and The Beer Garden as dedicated event venues making it a destination for weddings, corporate events, and private buyouts. And just down the road, the nearby Lyndon B. Johnson National Grasslands offers hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, wildlife viewing and fishing for guests looking to explore beyond the property.

Touring Camp QYB gives attendees the chance to see what happens when an operator commits fully to a vision, OHI said. Managing an expansive accommodation portfolio, running a multi-concept food program, cultivating a brand identity that keeps guests coming back; the practical lessons here are hard to find anywhere else.

The Vineyards Campground & Cabins on Grapevine Lake

Nationally recognized and consistently praised for its peaceful setting and welcoming atmosphere, The Vineyards is the kind of operation that earns loyal return guests year after year. Situated on the shores of Grapevine Lake, the park offers spacious full hook-up RV sites with pull-through access alongside fully furnished lakefront cabins giving attendees a firsthand look at how to serve multiple guest types within one property, OHI said.

The amenity lineup is a masterclass in what families want from a camping experience: a private sandy beach, fishing and kayaking access, a playground, a private nature trail and a well-stocked camp store, Grapevine Station, carrying supplies, firewood, branded apparel and gifts. On-site laundry and complimentary weekend guest events round out what makes a stay here feel complete.

“I’m thrilled to share everything happening at The Vineyards Campground & Cabins in Grapevine! From our refreshing swim beach and kid favorite playground to our spacious, beautifully maintained sites right on the lake, there’s something here for every kind of camper,” said Morgan Denny, Lake Parks manager. “It’s the perfect blend of adventure, relaxation and unforgettable moments. I can’t wait for more people to experience it!”

Location plays a role too. Just minutes from Historic Downtown Grapevine, guests have easy access to restaurants, wineries, shopping and entertainment, a pairing of local beauty and local culture that The Vineyards uses to its advantage.

Touring a park like The Vineyards gives attendees the chance to see hospitality at scale like how the team manages a diverse guest mix, curates memorable experiences, keeps operations running smoothly, handles peak weekends, stock and run a camp store, or build community through guest programming, OHI said. There will be no shortage of practical lessons to bring home.
