Ontario RV Association Backs ‘Campfire Circle’ Children’s Camp Amid Expansion
The Ontario Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association (ORVDA) is supporting Campfire Circle through a focused industry collaboration that is helping maintain access to camp programming during a period of expansion.
Since 2022, ORVDA has aligned with Campfire Circle in support of its mission to bring healing through happiness to children with cancer or serious illness and their families. The connection reflects a shared belief in the impact of time spent outdoors, creating space for families to reconnect, reset and experience moments that matter.
At Campfire Circle’s Rainbow Lake Family Camp in Waterford, temporary staff accommodations were required to ensure enough space for families on the waitlist to continue to access programming as the camp program expands. Later this year, Rainbow Lake will undergo a critical renovation to upgrade facilities throughout camp to better support children with serious illness.
In response, ORVDA worked with its membership to identify a practical solution. Trailer donations were secured through Can-Am RV, Camp-Out RV and Niagara Trailers, providing immediate, on-site accommodations to support camp operations.
The addition of these units allows Campfire Circle to reallocate existing cabin space that would have otherwise been used for staff, to maintain capacity and ensure that families are not displaced during this phase of growth. The impact is significant, enabling the organization to welcome the equivalent of an additional full family camp session this summer, supporting up to 22 more families.
“Giving back to our community matters to us. We’re grateful for the opportunity to support Campfire Circle and help create more space for families to enjoy the magic of this camp,” said Aaron Langille, general manager at Camp-Out RV.
“This initiative reflects what’s possible when industry aligns around a shared purpose,” said Natalie Conway, executive vice president of ORVDA. “Access to the outdoors is not just recreational, it’s meaningful. It gives families space to reconnect, reset, and spend time together in ways that are often out of reach during periods of illness. Organizations like Campfire Circle play a critical role in making those experiences possible, and our members were proud to support a solution that ensures more families can access that time together.”
“Rainbow Lake provides access to kids and families with cancer or serious illness when they need it most. At a time when demand is growing and our sites are at capacity, the generosity of the ORVDA members helps us welcome more families while we continue to expand for the future,” said Corey Smith, director of corporate and community partnerships, Campfire Circle.
Campfire Circle’s programs support children with cancer or serious illness through medically supported camp experiences in hospitals, communities and medically supported overnight camps. For many families, these programs provide an opportunity to step outside of clinical environments and reconnect in a setting focused on joy, dignity and shared experience.
