Countless media outlets all over the country have reported similar stories throughout 2020, but the difference here is it comes from the cradle of the RV manufacturing world.
Many industries have taken a hit during the pandemic, but RV manufacturers and dealers are having a banner year.
Dealerships have seen record sales, especially with first-time buyers.
RVs are rolling off the lots faster than dealerships can restock them. A lot of those buyers are buying for the first time, and the RV Industry Association says that’s great news for future sales.
Thomas Alexander has a lot more space to walk around these days.
“Normally, this is completely full, our side is completely full, and across the street is completely full,” said Alexander.
He’s the business manager at International RV in Elkhart. And his isn’t the only dealership to find a silver lining in the pandemic.
“Super busy, everybody wants a camper, they want it now, they want to go camping,” he said.
The pandemic is fueling that demand.
