Volta Power Systems, a leading supplier of mobile li-ion – as it refers to “lithium-ion” – power systems, has partnered with Phoenix USA RV on the coach manufacturer’s first line of motorcoaches supported by a secondary lithium system. According to Volta, the complete power systems will provide customers with the ability to run high-powered amenities, like overnight A/C, eliminating generators or the need to idle their vehicle. Phoenix will offer these systems on their Phoenix Cruiser and Phoenix TRX product lines, as well as their new Super C that will be ready to order this fall.
“Comfort, safety, and simplicity are three important ideals we strive for when designing any of our motorcoaches,” said Tina Cooper, co-owner of Phoenix USA RV. “It’s what our customers have told us they want, and we’re excited to take our commitment a step further by partnering with Volta.”
Phoenix USA RV’s Volta-equipped models will feature energy storage systems ranging from 6.6 kilowatt-hours to 13.3 kilowatt-hours, fanless DC power and an 8,000-watt alternator that recharges the system while driving. The system empowers RVers to run air conditioning and other 120-volt amenities like slow cookers, coffee makers, hair dryers, microwaves and more without relying on shore power or supplemental generators.
Customers will be able to charge their vehicles in a few ways, including directly from a shore power connection, from the system’s secondary alternator while the engine is running or from the vehicles’ solar panels, when applicable.
“The system setup the Phoenix team chose strikes the perfect balance between maximizing power and space in the motorcoach for short-term boondocking,” said Jon Mulder, Volta’s vice president of sales. “We can’t wait for Phoenix fans to experience being powered by Volta.”
Volta-equipped Phoenix vehicles are already available for order and will be ready to ship beginning later this year.
