The National Marine Manufacturers Association has reported that its preliminary data shows that new powerboat registrations were up 3 percent through May on a rolling 12-month, year-over-year basis.
The U.S. trade association said in an online statement that sales of freshwater fishing boats, personal watercraft, saltwater fishing boats, tow boats and yachts are strong for both rolling 12- and 3-month periods.

The NMMA’s Monthly Shipment Report said that nearly all boat segments were up through May. Registrations of boats 27 feet and above were up 11.5 percent, with sales of saltwater fishing boats up 16.3 percent for the period.
