Redwood’s Smart Connect 2.0 provides the RV with an internet data connection that acts as a gateway to the iN-Command system. This will allow owners to connect remotely to the iN-Command and control functions such as lighting, climate control and scheduling, as well as monitor tank levels, battery voltage, water heater and pump and generator functions from virtually anywhere in the world.

“Today, more than ever, people have the desire to be connected, and by partnering with Winegard (2.0 Wi-Fi Extender +4G LTE) & ASA Electronics (iN-Command), Redwood has taken the lead by offering the best network standard,” said Nate Nickell, general manager at CrossRoads RV.

“At anytime and anywhere you happen to be, if you have Wi-Fi or cellular service you are ‘connected’ to your Redwood,” said Tim Cress, product manager at Redwood. “The technology is here right now to add the ultimate convenience for our customers. This new Smart Connect 2.0 allows our customers to take advantage of the multiple wireless devices already inside our products today.”

Designed specifically for the mobile environment, the Winegard ConnecT 2.0 WiFi Extender + 4G LTE is a long-range Wi-Fi extender that increases the range of accessible Wi-Fi hotspots. The product uses its multiple, built-in smart antennas to scan and connect to Wi-Fi signals, rebroadcasting them in and around the camp site. The 4G LTE model can also connect to nationwide 4G LTE when Wi-Fi is not available.

“Winegard enables connectivity with many devices and software and the chance to work with Redwood and ASA on this project initiative is just one example of how our partnerships’ can tie the pieces together,” said Grant Whipple, Winegard president. “It’s an exciting time to be working with Redwood and other CrossRoads’ brands, which had the foresight to think about the Smart RV of the future and bring us together.”

The Global Connect feature allows iN-Command to communicate with a mobile device when both the RV and the mobile device have a Wi-Fi or cellular data connection. It is the technology that allows RV owners to control select, non-motorized features like lighting, climate control and scheduling, as well as monitor tank levels, battery voltage, water heater and pump and generator functions remotely.
